AN EXCITING MEETING. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 17, 9.30 p.m. Capetown, May 17. Five thousand people were present at a demonstration at Port Elizabeth in connection with a case of a criminal assault on a girl on a lonely road by a native, who was afterwards nrrested. The meeting was exciting, numerous natives being ejected. A resolution was enthusiastically carried prohibiting white women and girls being at large at night.
