TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Metropolitan Com mittee was held last night. Present.: Messrs. Lepper (chairman), Thomson Nolan, Weston, L. B. Webster, Alex ander, King, Standish, Hempton, Blun dell and Ellis. A jockey's license was granted to P Johnson. An application for a trainer's licerai was referred back to the Patea club fo a report. The Stratford Racing Club applied fo: the Ist and 2nd January as dates fo the annual race meeting, and the Wai tara Racing Club for the 23rd October —Approved. T.J.C. COMMITTEE. A meeting of the T.J.C. Committee was held subsequently. The New Plymouth Hockey Club's application for portion of the 'grounds for the purposes of a hockey ground was granted. The sub-committee reported that the alterations and additions to the caretaker's cottage were progressing slowly, and that other improvements to the course were nearly completed. 1 Accounts amounting to £3l lis 5d were passed for payment.
