THE SUGAR TAX
YIELDS THREE MILLIONS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, May 12. Mr. Lloyd-fleorge informed a deputation that the sugar tax was a burden on the poor and interfered with a valuable industry. He was, however, unable to abolish the tax, as it yielded over £3,000,000. He was convinced that such taxes should be avoided if the revenue could be extracted from other sources.
