A DISPROPORTIONATE INCREASE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, May 13. A deputation which asked Mr. Holman to appoint a Royal Commission to enquire into the increased cost of living, mentioned different alleged combines. It instanced, among other things, that wages in the boot trade "had increased twopence per pair, but the retail price had been raised 15d to 2s. Mr. Holman promised an almost immediate enquiry.
