TIMBER SCOW ASHORE. | By Telegraph.—Press Association. ! Gisborne. Friday. I The scow Waikonini was beached at Tokomaru 'Bay last week to land a cargo of timber, and was refloated on Tuesday, but did not get properly clear of the beach, and a heavy southerly roll set in which stranded her broadside on, and some difficulty has since been experienced in getting her oil'. The Union Company's tender Tuatea was despatched to Tokomaru this morning to render assistance. A POLL VOIDED. Ohristclmrch. Friday. Mr. Bishop. Horace Jeye». a young man, was fined ,-€SO on each of two charges of sly-grog selling, with the option of one month's imprisonment. The Magistrate instructed the police to ascertain when and where Jeyes obtained the liquor.
