TARANAKI PETROLEUM CO. At No. 3 bore reaming is proceeding satisfactorily, and the casing is being lowered accordingly. Oil still continues to How between the casings. Yesterday oil had accumulated in the 4-inch easing to within a few feet of the top, and there were several blow-outs, which scattered the oil about the interior of the derrick. There is still a strong escape of gas from the bore. At No. 2 and No. a bores, there is no change to report. Several members of the Masonic fraternity, who are at present visiting the district, inspected the bores yesterday. MR. J. D. HENRY IN LONDON. Yesterday morning Messrs Watkins and Fox received advice by cable that Mr. J. I). Henry, the English petroleum expert, who recently visited the Taranaki and other New Zealand fields, had arrived in London. Buy preference scares at once.
