Roca, a carrier, aged 18 vears, fired at and wounded Senhor Maurael, the Spanish Premier, at Barcelona in July last, and Senhor Maura, who accompanied the Premier. A lady cousin of the Premier seized the assailant. The outrage was attributed at the time to revenge for Senhor Maura's severe suppression of an insurrection in the previous year.
