MINING
THE TELLURIDES PROPRIETARY. The following is from a copy of the mine manager 8 l'cporl for tHe l'urtnight ending .May G, 1911: (jordon.—The main crosscut in this section has been, extended a distance of 41) feet for the' past fortnight, and I :im sorry to say that the country contimies to be very tight, both for boring ' and breaking, owing to the large number of calcite veins that continue to cross the course of the Jevel. According to Mr. Adams' plan, which came to hand during the week, there was on April 23 40(S feet to drive to reach Corbett's reef. Since that date the level referred to has been advanced 40 feet, leaving 300 feet to reach that point. In a letter to me he states that the distance from Corbett's lode forward to the Julia ore body is »20 feet, and from that point there is a further distance of 305 feet to intersect the Silver Queen lode. Some very high class ore is beim' won from Corbett's reef in the Silver°stream mine. The lode matter looks more promising along the floor of the level, which leads me to believe it will increase in value and strength as depth is attained. _ Prospecting work is being carried on upon what is known as the Emperor holding, and a lode in close proximitv to the Irving boundary has been exposed,! i but at present is of no commercial! ' value. The country is this direction! i is of the right class, when the lodes are, I developed at depth, for something of i importance to be revealed. ° , Volunteer,—The main adit level in : this section has been advanced 15 feet i since last report, mating a total dis- 1 tance from its surface entrance of 8S 1 feet. The level is again traversm" a 1 i splendid section of andesitc country. ' j <
