(From Our Own Correspondent). At the S.M. Court on Wednesday, Herbert Taylor was proceeded against by his wife for maintenance. Defendant said he was quite agreeable to continue the payment of £1 per week, which he had made since they separated about Christmas time up to March 21st. All he wanted was protection against arrest should it be necessary for him to leave Waitara. The order was made. Pewa, at native, objected to a prohibition order being issued against him, but Mr. Fitzherbert overruled the objection, and granted ail order. Judgment by default was given in the cases of R. Wright v. Jas. W. Mortensen, claim £4 17s fld, costs 30s; D. Danifilsen v. J. King, claim £<i Is 7d. costs 18s fid: Hatrick and Co. v. D. 0. Shut®, claim £3 Is 7d, costs 20s; B. E. Chappell v. D. 0. Shute, claim £3 Is 7d,'costs 18s. i A ladies' hockey club was formed in W&itaraon Tuesday' evening, the following officers being appointed:—President, Mr. G. H. Stubbs; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. Rennie, H. N. Cossar.'W. F. Jenkins, G. V. Tate, H. E. Vaughan and W. Birdling; secretary and treasurer, Miss McConnell; committee, Misses Tate, Bernstein, Purdie, McConnell and M. Stubbs; club captain, Miss Purdie; delegate, Mr. A. Ralph. The North Taranaki Dairy Co. paid £751 19s Id to suppliers for April milk, being an increase of £ls 15s Gd on the corresponding month of last year. The directors have decided on putting a TV 2 -h.p. Hornsby engine in at the Waltoitoi creamery, as increased power will be required next season for the additional milk supply in sight. Suppliers at the Waitara factory will receive £043 5s 5d lor April milk.
