HON. McKENZIE AT MATIERE. THE SETTLERS ELATED. (By Telegraph—Special to News). Matiere, Thursday. The Hon, R. McKenzie, Minister of Public Works, and Messrs. Hine and Jennings, JI.sP., were entertained at a luncheon by the settlers of Matiere today. The Minister promised a speedy start at Ongarue. When Tangarakan was reached all the plant and staff would be centred at Ongarue. He expressed favorable views in reference to the main road improvements. Settlers were highly elated, and an ovation was given to the Minister and party on leaving.
