GIRL 01VES lIKR LIFE. By Tel graph,—Press Association. Nelhon, I-ast Night. The inquest on the girl Lillian Wilson, who wiih )m lister wan drowned -at Taruna on Easter Monday, was concluded to-dav. The Coroner returned n verdict lluit deceased was accidentally drowned while endeavoring to save her sister from a similar fate. The Coronet said the girl had given her life for her sister, lie commended the courage displayed by May Smith, another young girl, who endeavored to rescue her companion. FOUXJ) IN A RIVER. Christcjhurch, Last Night. At the inquest on the body of a child found in a sugar-bag in the river Avon, medical evidence showed that the child had been born on Sunday or Monday, and had probably died within two hours of birth The umbilical cord had nofc been cut or tied, and the child had died from hemorrhage. No evidence of the identity of the parents was forthcoming.
