Chung Yong, for opium smoking, and being found in possession of opium, was fined £ls to-day. Y.M.C.A. CAMPAIGN. Wanganui, Wednesday. The Y.M.C.A. ten days' campaign to raise £7BOO, commenced here this morning, and already £3175 has been promised, including £IBOO donated by a resident for the purchase of the site. Last evening an enthusiastic, rally was held, which was addressed by the Hon. Geo. Fowlds. He said the committee would raise the amount in the period mentioned. HON. MILLAR QUESTIONED. Dunedin. Wednesday. Tn answer to questions last night, Mr. Millar said that as an individual memebcr, he was prepared to vote for compensation to a man who was wrongfully convicted at Westport on the evidence of a perjurer. He also said that he was strongly opposed to an elcctiye Upper House.
