ALLEGED PROFANATION.

THE MOSQUE OF OMAR. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Constantinople, May 9. An excited debate took place in the Chambers. The Minister of the Interior stated that the former Grand Vizier had granted the explorers the right to excavate two passages. Permission for a third attempt to the sanctuary of the Mosque of Omar was refused, but the explorers then corrupted the officials and violated the sanctuary. The baggage of the Englishmen was searched at Jaffa, but contained no proof of theft, and Captain Parker, when interviewed, said that all the antiquities found in Jerusalem were handed to the Turkish authorities.
