AN APPEAL UPHELD. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 0, 8.20 p.m. Sydney, May 0. The Full Court upheld the appeal of Mr. Catts, a member of the Federal House, and secretary of the Railway Tramway Association, who was fined £3 for divulging the proceedings of the Railway Service Superannuation Board. Catts published the information in the Association's official organ, the defence being that the regulation prohibiting publication was ultra vires. This defence was upheld by the Full Court.
£ 1050 FOR A RAM. Received 10, 12.45 a.m. Sydney, May 0. A Bundemar estate ram was sold for 10(10 guineas to W. Gibb, of Jerilderie.
FEDERATION IN DIFFICULTIES. Received 10, 12.45 a.m. Sydney, May 0.
The Coal and Shale Miners' Federation of New South Wales is threatened with dissolution. A ballot of northern miners, the strongest division, decided not to continue affiliation. The Federation was created in August, 1000, and Peter Bowling was prominent In its formation.
VICTORIAN RAILWAYS. Received 10, 1.5 a.m. Melbourne, May 0. The railway revenue for ten months was £343.000 above that for the same period last year.
A COSTLY KINK. Received 10, 1,5 a.m. Perth, May 0. A man was fined £lO for refusing to fill a census paper.
