SMALL POPULATION INCREASE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Hobart, May 8. The first count of the census returns gives the population of Tasmania as 138,<535, an increase of 1060 in ten years. TUBERCULOSIS CAMPAIGN. Melbourne, May 8. The proposals of the recent Tuberculosis Conference include a scheme for a national campaign against consumption, including compulsory notification, facilities for collecting information, legal power to regulate home management and remove and segregate dangerous cases, financial assistance to the wives and families of sufferers.
