A RAILWAY DIFFICULTY. By cable.—'Press Association—Copyright Received S. 9.20 p.m. London, May 8. Two railway policement at West Hartlepool were dismissed for refusing to cease membership of the Amalgamated Railwaymen's Society. Thereupon the local railwaymen decided to tender their notices, and appealed to the executive of the Society to intiate a strike throughout the North-Eastern railway system.
WINE-GROWERS' DISTURBANCES. Received 8, 11.30 p.m. Paris, May 8. Four and a-half pounds of dynamite cartridges were found against a garden fence at Epernay, in the wine-growing district. It is thought the owner got rid of it, fearing a domiciliary search.
