THE OPPOSITION POLICY. GREAT BRITAIN FIRST. By cable.—Press Association. l -Copyright Received 7, 5.5 p.m. Ottawa, May G. Sir W. F. Borden, Leader of the Opposition, at a Conservative banquet, characterised the reciprocity scheme as mischievous and damnable. The Conservatives intended never to slacken their efforts to defeat the measure and bring about closer relations with Great Britain. It has been finally arranged with Sir Wilfrid Laurier to adjourn Parliament from May to July. The Government refused a prorogation, aB a new start with the reciprocity measure would thus be imperative.
