IS CABINET AFRAID? By Gable—Press Association—Copyright Adelaide, May 5. A deputation representing Renmark fruit-growers waited on the Chief Secretary to ask protection in connection with the strike there. They stated that a reign of terror existed and alleged the commission of crimes, including tl' • burning of buEdings, the poisoning o' -rater troughs, and the shooting of a watchman.

The proceedings were Btonny, and the Government was freely accused of shirking its duty because it was afraid of Trades Hall. The threat was made that unless the Government gave assistance the people would be compelled to take the law into their own hands. The Minister claimed that the Government had done its best.
