Mrs. Knuckey has recommenced business in her general store in Eliot street, where the Daily News can be secured at an early hour each morning. The next Stratford sale of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., will be held on Tuesday next, 9th inst. The entries are advertised in Chis issue.

The phblie are reminded of the sale of the plant of the Motor Transport and Carrying Co. which Mr. Newton King is holding at Okato on Wednesday next, May lOtn. The sale should prove of special interest to carriers, as the lorries to be offered have been specially built for traffic on the hilly roads of Taranaki. The 24/30-h.p. four-eylinder Char-a-banc should meet with ready sale. This has been bulit to carry 25 passengers, and to travel at a speed of (at least) 15 miles on any road. For a mail carrier, or a 'bus proprietor in a suburban district, nothing better could be obtained. There will also be offered hair an acre of freehold land with an up-to-date garage thereon, situated in the centre of the Okato township. With the growing population in this part of the district, this property should prove a valuable investment to anyone who can afford to hold on to the land for a few years.
