AMUSEMENTS
BIOGRAPH PICTURES. Nothing better in high cinematograph art has been seen in New Plymouth than the programme submitted for the lirst time at the 'iueatre Royal last night. The scenic films, embracing Italian lake „sc_ei}ery, Cowes regatta, and others, make a very picturesque feature. The picture depicting Chinese amusements was decidedly interesting, and, being an entirely new departure, found favor. The artists in this subject are particularly adept at their work or p'ay. The drama* are well set, and include "Ave Maria," "The Governor's Daughter," end "Home Melody." The comic side of the programme supplies many a hearty laiig'u, "Mr. Mugwump and the Baby" heing ;i most ludicrous affair. The entire programme is up to the best standard, itrd patrons attending to-niyht *nd to-iiior-row night will have a fint-rate two and a-half hours of refined ditvtp.inmout.
