Tin—Forward £IOO 15s. WHEAT AND FLOUR. London, April 30. The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 3,590,000 quarters, and for the Continent 3,510,000 quarters; Atlantic shipments 67,000 quarters. The total shipments to' Europe amount to 1,335,000 quarters, including Argentine • 295,000 quarters, Russian 005,000 quarters, Danubian 120,000 quarters, Indian 80,000 quarters, Australasian 74,000 quarters. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. By Telegraph.—Prpos Association.' Wellington, Monday. The following is the High Commissioner's cablegram under date London, April 29: — Mutton.—The market is very dull. River Plate, which is in large supply, is being pushed for sale. Canterbury 3%d, North Island 2%d. Lamb.—The market is depressed. Canterbury 4y s d, other than Canterbury 4d, River Plate 3%d. Beef.—The market is quiet. New Zealand hinds 3%d, fores 2%d. Butter.—The market has declined 4s for Danish and Siberian, but is unchanged for colonial. Choicest New Zealand butter 109s, Australian 102s, Danish 112s, Siberian 98s per cwt. Cheese.—The market is quiet, and prices slightly weaker. New Zealand Gls per cwt. Hemp. —The market is quiet, but rather steadier. New Zealand good fair, spot, £2O; fair grade, £ls ss. Fair current Manilla, spot, £l9; forward shipment, £l9 ss. Output from Manilla for the week was 25,000 bales. New Zealand Oats.—Short sparrowbills, ex granary on spot, per quarter of 3841b5, 20s: Danish, per quarter of 3201b5, 17? Gd, * Beans.—There is more demand. New Zealand beans f.a.q. old crop, per 5041b5, 355.
Peas.—The market is ■firm, lntt demand only moderate. New Zealand p*as (partridge), per 5041b5, 445; forward shipment at about the same pride. Wheat—The market is quiet and steady. New Zealand long-berried wheat on spot, ex granary, per quarter of 49Glbs, 32b Od; short-berried, 31s 6d (nominal). Oats.—There is general and active demand. , j, FROZEN MEAT. T Wellington. Monday. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.; has received the following cablegram from their Londqn house under date 28th inst: The. market is depressed, and there are no signs of improvement. MEAT, SKINS, ETC. Messrs. Dalgety and Co. Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London office dated 25th and 27th inst: — Sheepskins.—Any change in prices is in favor of sellers. Merino combing skins are %d higher, and crossbred combing %d to y a d per lb higher. Fine crossbreds show chief advance. Other descriptions are unchanged. Frozen Meat.—The market is dull. Lamb is y 8 d to y 4 d per lb lower, and mutton 1-lGd to 3-l(id lower. Beef is weak, but without quotable change. Tallow.—Prime mutton and prime beef are 5d per ewt. higher. Good mutton tallow is unchanged. Low and inferior descriptions generally are 5d per cwt. higher. THE HIDE MARKET. Mr. Newton King has received the following cable from his Sydney agents re hides: "Slightly easier."
