THE HOIUTIKA HARBOR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hokitika, Last Night. A poll of ratepayers of the Hokitika harbor district is being taken to-morrow on the question of the Board obtaining a loan of .€15,000 to continue the works in progress for the improvement of the port of Hokitika. FROSTS. Masterton, Last Night. Severe frosts have been experienced in this district for the last two nights. These will have a 1 damaging effect on the young grass. BURGLARIES IN MASTERTON. Masterton, Last Night. A series of burglaries has been committed in Masterton since .Saturday night. Three shops were broken into and goods were taken. In one the thief lowered himself through a skylight by a number of saddle-straps, and took knives and razors. A thief broke a confectioner's plate-glass window, and took between £1 and £3 worth of goods, and a draper's simp was entered, but it is not luiown what quantity of goods was taken. Suspicion points to a boy who has since disapepared,
