THE CANTON RIOTS
REFUGEES ARRIVE AT HONGKONG. By cable.—Press Association.—^Copyright Canton, April 28. The riot originated from the arrest of a supposed revolutionary. There were three hundred casualties. A steamer with a hundred refugees, mostly worsen, has reached Hongkong. PROTECTION FOR AMERICANS. Received 1, 12.30 a.m. New York, April 30. In connection with the rioting at Canton, the gunboat Wilmington has been ordered from Hongkong to Canton for the protection of American residents.
