A letter received yesterday by a local ; bowler from Mr. A. D. Gray reports that the bowling team is having a splen- j did time in Australia. On Thursday! last eight members of the team were; leaving Sydney for a trip of a few days' duration to Melbourne, prior to returning home. WEST END CLUB. I Thursday last had been chosen as the day for closing the West End green I for the season, when a match was to have been played between teams chosen by the president and vice-president. Owing to the weather the attendance ' was very limited, and scratch teams 1 were chosen and a short game indulged >! in. Despite the heavy rains the green r , played keen. The committee Has decided that the green will be open for play •I this afternoon, and given favorable wea■l ther, there should be a good attendance ■ for the final roll-up this season.
