A CASE FOR THE ARBITRATION COURT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A special meeting of the Merchant Service Guild was held at Wellington this afternoon to consider the proposals submitted by the Union Steamship Company in regard to conditions of employment. The meeting considered the proposals of the company were too vague and indefinite, and it was decided to refer the dispute to the Conciliation Council, with a view to it eventually being taken to the Court of Arbitration.
