At Eahotu on Tuesday weaners made from 18s to 295, small do. 12s 6d to 16s, store cows £2 6s to £3 13s, forward cows £4 3s to £4 13s, fat cows £4 3s to £4 13.5, fat cows £4 17s 6d, bulls £3 las 6d to £5 7s- 6d. On the same day I held a clearing sale of furniture at Rahotu on account of the J Rev. Laybourn, when there was a good attendance of buyers and satisfactory prices were realised. i On Wednesday I held a, clearing sale 1 at Ok-ato on account of Messrs J. Hall and W. G. Richardson, when there was a good attendance of buyers. Competition was keen, good prices being realised throughout. Early calvers made £6 10s to £8 15s, later £4 to £5 15s, in-calf heifers £5 3s, weaner heifers 38s, mixod weaners 225, mare £6, trap £l2 10.-. harrows £3 16s. Sundries sold at usual< rates.
At Wahva'kaiho on Thursday there was a good yarding. Mixed weaners made 17s to 24s fid, Holstein weaner heifers 35s fid, 15-months heifers £2 7s (id to £2 10s, 15-months steers £2 fis Od, 18months steers £3 4s Od, store cows £2 7s fid to £3 14s, forward cows £4 7s fid, in-calf heifers ,£4 14s to £5, springing heifers up to £7, springing cows £5 10s to £9 15s, do. (Jersey strain) £ll, 3-year bullocks £5 7s 6d', bulls £2 10s to £5 17s Gd, grade Jersey bull (by "Campanile's Sultan") £!).

Tin' -.c.v Zealand Loan unci Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Stratford branch) report:— We held our fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards on Tuesday, 25th inst., at 12.30 p.m. sharp, as advertised. In opening the sale, the company's auctioneer, Mr. Bndd, informed a large attendance of supporters that the company had made several friendly suggestions to our J rivals without having any effect, hence | our starting of the sale at the above time. We thank our clients and supporters for attending and making this sale one of the most successful we have yet held in our yards here. The yarding was not up to advertised numbers, owing, no doubt to the heavy rain on Monday. Notwithstanding this it consisted of 415 head of cattle, mostly farmers' lines, and 059 ewes and lambs, most of which were disposed of at the following prices, the sale finishing about 3 o'clock: —Wcaners, 21s to 335, for a nice line: store cows, small, 44s to 65s Gd, for medium; forward cows, 70s to 975; weaner Jersey-cross heifers, under keen competition, 38s to 425; heifers in calf, 00s to 85s; cows in calf, not very forward, 80s to 975; springing cows, backward, 100s; springing heifers, . 120s; Jersey yearling heifers, empty, 00s to 62s Od; lambs, from 4s 9d to 0s 3d; sound-mouth ewes, from 4s 6d to 10s Od for forward ewes.
Our next sale in the Stratford yards will be held on Tuesday, May 9, starting at 12.30 p.m. sharp, when we hope to offer about 200 head of cattle without reserve. MATTHEWS & BENNETT'S REPORT. Matthews and Bennett report that there was a fair entry of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last, and most lots changed hands at the following prices:—Calves £1 5s to £1 10s, JerseyHolstein calves £1 15s to £2 2s, ISmonths mixed £2 18s, 18-months steers £3 4s Od. store cows £2 5s to £3 7s. in-calf heifers £4 10s to £4 17 s Od. springers £4 to £0 7s 6d, bulls £2 10s to £5 10s, cull lambs 3s Id.
