FOOTBALL
TARANAKI RUGBY UNION. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Taranaki Rugby Union, was held at Stratford last night, whenj there were present: Messrs. Buchanan (chairman), Bourke, O'Dea, McLeod, Chalmers, Rev. Scott, and P. Skoglund (secretary). REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. Mr. Buchanan reported that the delegates from the Northern and Southern Referees' Associations had met the Union's delegates, and as a result of the I discussion, it was agreed that both associations amalgamate, and form a Taranaki Referees' Association, with anj executive consisting of two members from each division and a chairman to be, appointed by the Taranaki Rugby Union! from its Management Committee. Mr. T. Buchanan was appointed the Union's representative, and the headquarters of the association will be at Stratford. It was also resolved to donate the Referees' Association an extra £5 ss. THE WANGANUI MATCH.
It was resolved to play Wanganui at Wanganui on June 3rd. The Wanganui Union will be asked to return the match during the Dominion show week at Hawera, Accommodation arrangements will be made at once. BAYLY SCHOLARSHIP.
Mr. McLeod reported that the concert held in New Plymouth at short | notice in aid of the above fund had 1 realised £O. Shortly another concertl would be held in New Plymouth. He suggested that a special committee should be appointed to organise the matter. It would probably take two or three years to raise a few hundred pounds, and the clubs would not do much unless they were urged. Members favored the motion, and Messrs. Malone, Cargill and Skoglund were appointed. SATURDAY FOOTBALL. The question of the Saturday Football Association in New Plymouth affiliating with the Taranaki Rugby Union was discussed in all its bearings, a deputation being present from the association. Members seemed quite favorable to the scheme, and expressed their willingnss to assist as much as possible. I The following notice of motion was given by Mr. McLeod to be discussed at' a special general meeting to be held on' Tuesday, May 9th: "That the applica-j tion of the Saturday clubs for affiliation with the Union as a separate senior division be granted." INFRINGEMENTS. Paddy (Okaiawa) and Hurley (Eltham), who were ordered off by the Rev.' Scott in the first junior play-off last' season, were reprimanded. The application' of the Clifton Club' for the removal of the disqualification' from Jones, who was disqualified until the end of the first round of 1911 for impudence to the referee in the Eltham 1 v. Clifton match, was refused. The Okaiawa Club asked that the dis-' qualification should be removed from' Arthur Grey, who was disqualified till the end of 1911.—N0 action taken. j The Waimate Club asked that the dis-] oualification should be removed from Ryan, a third junior, who wjis disqualified for five years last season for kicking a Maori,—After further particulars had been adduced, the application was unanimously granted. GENERAL. The secretary's honorarium was fixed at twenty guineas. j The chairman, secretary and Mr.' O'Dea were appointed an executive committee. ] FIXTURES.
