FIRES.
A HOMESTEAD BURNED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Wednesday. The twelve-roomed homestead of James Balfour, sheep-farmer, of Te Aroha, was destroyed by fire yesterday. Nothing was saved. A number of family relics of considerable value were lost. A DWELLING DESTROYED. Westport, Last Night. A (ire yesterday destroyed a recentlyerected house belonging to N. S. Jordan, in Westport. Insurances were £3OO in the State office on the building and £l5O in the Commercial Union on the furniture. If your property is not insured call at or ring up the United Insurance Company, Ltd..
