CENSUS RETURNS
WANGANUI. By Telegrapk.— Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. Returns supplied by the census enumerator give the population of the borough of Wanganui at 10,030, as against 8175 at the last census. To this must be added the immediate suburbs, Wanganui East (1738), fionville (1554) and Castlecliff (030), making the population of Greater Wanganui 14,852. DANNEVIRKE. Dannevirke, Monday. The census returns give the population of the borough of Dannevirke at 3374, against 350!) in lflOfi, a decrease of 135. The removal of the sawmill industry is given as the reason of the loss in population. DEVOXPORT. Auckland, Monday. The census of Devonport borough gives a population of 7040, an increase of about 2000 on the previous census.
