Although Madero recently denied his intention to seek an armistice, to-day Madero formally advised Gomez, the rebels' confidential agent in Washington, to agree to the proposals of a third party favoring the suspension of hostilities with a view to the adjustment of differences. The Diaz Government has agreed and the terms are now in process of settlement, though neither side admits it made any overtures.
