BARTON'S CIRCUS. AND PEDRO BROS. The New Plymouth public will be pleased to hear that Messrs. Barton Bios, have decided to play one night in New Plymouth, To-night a performance will be given ut the old tennis ground, Devon street west. It should not be considered that because the circus is visiting the smaller towns ana not only the cities, that it is but a small affair. It is not. It visits the country towns because it travels by road and stops at convenient places. The circus has already been over most of the North Island, and lias been meeting with well deserved success. It is not mediocre at all. True, it has not got a menagerie, but the menagerie doca not supply many items on a circus programme. The artists who supply the programme are quite as gobd as those who have visited the Dominion with other circuses, and, for two and a half hours the audience have not a dull moment. The acrobatic feats by the two Pedros are distinctly clever, as are also the Altons (acrobatic tumblers) ana the bounding billiard table act. The audience marvels at the tight and slack rope walking by Madame Marguerite, who also performs daring equestrian feats. The Waldorf family (pyramid statuary) give a good turn, as also do the Musical Weathcrleys', who arc clever and amusing. The clown and his dummy accomplice also create considerable, diversion. The equestrian acts are well done, while the .• buck-jumping attracts considerable attention. It may be mentioned here that the Pedro Bros, are New Plymouth boys who have just returned from a successful tour of the world.
