Sir Edward Strachey, in a speecli at Crewkerne, said there was a growing feeling that neither the Board of Agriculture nor the county councils were doing as much as they might regarding the working of the Small Holdings Act. The time had arrived for more activity in acquiring land. The Daily Xews declares that the Board of Agriculture is hopeless, and needs overhauling. A new broom. is required to replace Earl Carrington.
