STATE INSURANCE
A MAORI LAND MODEL. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, April 21. Mr Carmichael. advocating a State insurance scheme, declared that New Zealand's State Insurance, taken from the point of view of the general public and the insurers was an emphatic success. It might be that it had not had much to distribute in profits, but its effect, had been to produce a reduction in premiums by the whole of the private companies. People, can hardly call an institution which saves the general public nearly £250.000 per annum a failure from the point of view of the general public.
