TEMPERANCE HOTELS DISCUSSED. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, April 21. The No-License Conference adopted resolutions in favour of giving practical support in the establishment of liquorless hotels in the State, and in favour of the repeal of the three-fifths majority clause at local option polls. The Licensed Victuallers Association discussed the question of temperance hotels. Statements were made that prohibition cities in America were dismal and gloomy places. A VISIT TO INVERCARGILL. THE OBJECTS COMPARED. Received 22, 1.6 a.m. Sydney, April 21. The Rev. Ferguson, at the Alliance Conference, said that in Invercargill recently he had looked for "the dire results of No-licensc. Instead, he found it had improved socially, morally, and materially. The people in the liquor trade were in it to make money. The opponents of the liquor traffic were out to save money for the community.
