<m . TWO MINERS DROWNED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invcrcargill, Wednesday. Two miners working at Round. Hill, Joseph Bates and Frank Smith, have been found drowned. They were working in a hole, and it appears that a fall of sludge pinned them before they could extricate themselves. The water rose and drowned them. Bates, who was 37 years of age, leaves a widow and several children. Smith was single. POUND DEAD. i Timaru, Last Night. The police' have received word that William Blair, aged 20, was found dead in a paddock at Fairlie, 35 miles from Timaru. WOMAN'S SUDDEN DEATH. Hastings, Last Night Alice Overend, married, aged 42, died suddenly while assisting her daughter with the household washing. She leavea a widower and four children.
