At the annual meeting of the Licensed Victuallers' Association the president declared that members did not now fear for their existence. Their opponents would never carry reduction, and never carry no-license. The extremists killed themselves by wanting the whole or nothing. He believed that the next poll would be the last one. He wanted them to show their opponents that the public wanted hotels and wanted good liquor.
