I Stockley, sub. 1. section 32, block 6/' Ngatimaru. THE FREEHOLD. The application of P. O'Dea on behalf of F. J. and M. Kelly for freehold of section 3, block 11, Omona, and of T. R. Mounsey, to convert section 2, block 16, to freehold, were approved. i The New Zealand Loan and Mereantile Co,, Ltd., Stratford, applied for freebold of part section 7-!, clock 14, Pouatu. —II. T. Twiss, Crown lands ranger, was appointed appraiser for valuation of fee simple. The Under-Secretary for Lands wrote that the necessary reserves for township and scenery would be cut out of section 4, block 10, Ohura, as soon as possible, and the balance of section handed over to the Wanganui River Trust. Tbpre was no power to grant J. McDonald's application for the section, i THIRDS. The report of H. T. Twiss, ranger, on the proposals of the Okato Road Board for expenditure of thirds from sections 4 and 5, block 11, Cape, was adopted. The proposals of the Whangamomona Countv Council for expenditure or thirds. £SS IGs od, from section 2, block 15, Pouatu, was approved. The application of Whangamomona County Council for thirds from Mangarc road loan area to be pledged in payment of interest on loan was deferred for further information. E. Tolme, ranker, reported on the proposal of the Waitomo County Council for expenditure of thirds amounting to' £252 4s 9d—lt was resolved that the' proposals for metalling* Mokau-Ohura road be affirmed, and that the remainder of the proposal be referred back to the Council for further information. RANGERS' REPORTS. E. Tolme, ranger, reported on the application of C. Malone for lease of part of Aria township reserve.—A lease of five years is to be submitted for public auction. He also reported on the application of Hie Kaeaea settlers for part section 10, block 2. Aria, for a hall site.—lt was resolved that on the necessary survey being made at the expense of the settlers interested, an acre be disposed of at a valuation of £2. The ranger's report as concerning a temporary lease was adopted in connection with the application of N. Daller for lease of section 1, block 2, Heao. 11. T. Twiss, ranger, reported on section 07. block 10, Mimi, purchased by (he Crown under the Native Land Act. 1!)00.—It was resolved to defer disposal of the land for the present. He also reported on S.G. runs 2 and 12, Opaku. which have been resumed by the Crown.—The report was adopted," and the land will be offered under part 3 of tlie Land Act, MOS. E. A. Meredith, assistant ranger, reported on the alteration of boundary of section 7, block 2. Tangitu, by final survey, for which the selector applied for a reduction of rent.—The Board could not sec its way to grant the request. GENERAL. A. M. and K. F. Tovey applied for permission 1o sub-divide section-21, block 2, Ohura—Consent will be given upon a duiy certified plan of survey being obtained. R. G. Fawkner was granted a year-to-year tenancy of sections 37, 35,*39 and 42, block 3, Whangamomona township. C. E. Rally applied to purchase ono and a half acres of section 5, block 13, Waro, now held by him under temporary tenancy.—The ranger's report is to be obtained as to advisability of adding the land to Education reserve as a homestead site. In connection with the application of the Ohura County Council for lease of section 10, block 11, Aria, as a travelling stock reserve, (he Board decided that enquiries should' be made as to whether it was necessary that a permanent stock reserve should be provided in this locality. The ranger's report on the residence bv Craven and Mcl'ne on section 2, block 1, Ohura, was satisfactory. T:i connection with the application of A. ITagPii-nn for part soction S. block 7, Warn, it was resolved that the land be disposed of to tlie applicant under section 120 of the Land Act, 100 S.

On the application of T. S. Senior for remission of rent on section 2, block 8, Waro, S. J. Montgomery and W. 11. Humphries wrote asking the Board to consider transfer of the scci.oii to them. —lt was resolved that the application for remission of rent could not be entertained, but that under the exceptional circumstances , the transfer be recommended for approval. The ranger's report is to be obtained on the application of the Stratford County Council to the Board to clear creek on section 30, block li, Xgatimaru, near Huiroa township. The Board adjourned until 11 a.m. today.
