M. OSSIPOFF'S RECITALS. Eugene Ossipoff, the famous Russian baritone, who is advertised to give recitals in the Theatre Royal on Thursday and Friday, 20th and 21st inst, comes with a solid reputation. His audiences have the utmost enthusiasm on all occasions, and wherever he has appeared, requests have been received for more recitals. In Christchurch recently, his audiences were most demonstrative. The Press, referring to his Inst recital, says:—"The numbers that he was on the programme to give were more than doubled by the recalls he responded to." Shaking of his work in Australia, the) Melbourne Age says.—"He is without doubt a highly gifted singer, one who bos the gift of being highly original, as well as thoroughly artistic. If there is more to add, it is that his power of arousing an audience equals anything experienced in Melbourne for many a day." M. Ossipoff will be assisted by .special solo, artists, including Miss Renee Lees, who plays all his accompaniments from memory—a very remarkable feat; Miss Lilian Edwards, soprano, and Mr. Chas. Norman, the only oboe soloist in Australasia. The box plan is open at Hoffmann's. The company is under the direction of Mr. W. H. Williamson.
