THE HOLIDAY.
AT WELLINGTON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather was fine but rather wintry for Uhe holiday to-day. There were no special attractions in the city, but large numbers went to the Feilding and Wairarapa races and to the coursing at Wallaceville. RAIN AT GISBORNE. Gisborne, Last Night. All fixtures were postponed to-day as, after an exceptionally long period of dry weather, rain commenced very early on Sunday morning, and up till this evening over three inches have fallen. Heavy weather lias been experienced along the East Coast since Saturday, but not severe enough to interfere with shipping.
