RECIPROCITY BILL INTRODUCED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. New York, April 12. The Reciprocity Bill lias been reintroduced, but it is uncertain what the Senate will do. A FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION. Received April 14, 5.5 p.m. Washington, April 13. The Ways and Means Committee reports favorably on the Reciprocity Bill. RECIPROCITY PROSPECTS IMPROVE. Received 15, 12.25 a.m. Ottawa, April 14. Mr. Fielding declares that British preference will remain unchanged for the present. Opinion in Government circles inclines to the belief that the reciprocity agreement will be ratified by the end of April. Washington, April 13. Aa a result of further arbitration conferences between Mr. Jas. Bryce, British Ambassador at Washington, and Mr. P. C. Knox, Secretary of State, it is regarded as certain that the draft of the treaty will be ready for ratification during the present session of Congress. The belief prevails in political circles that the prospects of the Reciprocity Bill are improving as regards the Senate.
