FOURTEEN TOWNS WIPED OUT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 14, 5.5 p.m. New York, April 13. Fourteen towns in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma were wiped out by a tornado, There are twenty-five known fatalities, and over a hundred were seriously injured. The damage is estimated at half a million. This was the most disastrous tornado experienced in the districts. DEATH-ROLL EXCEEDS A SCORE. Received 15, 12.30 a,.m. New York, April 13. The tornado wiped out the town of Bigheart, Oklahoma. Ten were killed. A relief train has been despatched. All communication is cut off, The town of Whitings, Kansas, was also wiped out. Sixty houses were j wrecked, and many people were killed and injured. The wife of a farmer was swept from the steps of her home, carried half a mile, and killed. The Eskridge school was badlv damaged, and dozens of the pupils vere injured. One pupil was killed at HiawaJia by the collapse of a school. : ( The total death-roll exceeds a score.
