Campbell, Hurst, and Macßeynolds [were appointed a committee to inspect the three bridges (Taungatara, Manga-: liunie and Lltham road) and 'report at next meeting. Cr. Macßeynolds reported that the culvert at Mrs, Carroll's required four lengths of timber for repairs—Timber to be obtained. Tenders were accepted:—Contract 186. G. Kehely 3s 2d; contract 184, Henricksen, £lO7 (subject to approval); contract 185, Mulvihill £l4O (subject to approval). Cr. Macßeynolds gave notice to move at next meeting that the boundaries of Rahotu riding be altered; viz., Rahotu riding be from Pimiho to Oaonui; Ominake riding from Oaonui to Taungatara, I'oreman Humphries (Rahotu southen) reported that during the month lie had been engaged raking up the loose stone anil repairing road between Waiaua and Taungatara rivers. The greater portion of the decking on Mangaunic and ■Taungatara bridges was getting very rotten, and might break through at any time, lie had no timber on hand to repair the bridge. It required 600 feet of timber at each' bridge. Ho had lengthened the two culvert's between Heimama and Kotoetoe streams.—Abridged from Opunake Times.
