Western Canadian coal owners affected by the Crow's Nest strike informed the Labor Department that they would welcome the proposal of Government interference with a view to compulsory arbitration. The Tartar general who was assassinated was a member of the Reform Society repatriated from Singapore. A MILLIONAIRE VAGRANT. Paris, April 11. An American was arrested on a publican's complaint and sentenced to two years' imprisonment for vagrancy. He has since been released, as it has been proved that he is a millionaire. SMALL HOLDINGS IN ENGLAND. London, April 11. The county councils acquired 33,335 acres for small holdings in 1910. The Board of Agriculture has applied to the Development Commissioners for an annual grant of £20,000 to enable councils to appoint organisers to assist holders in marketing their goods, and forming co-operative societies.
