BIG GUN RIVALRY
BRITAIN LEADS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 12, 10.25 p.m. Loudon, April 12. The Times says that Great Britain lias four ships alloat and two shortly to be launched, all of which carry 13y 2 - inch guns. No other Power has any vessel so far advanced which mounts heavier than 12-inch guns. Possibly Krupp's 14inch is a fortress gun. If found expedient, Britain already has a 14-inch gun, tested, which she could utilise aboard warships, while it is equally possible that further advance may ultimately be made to 15-inch. There is no indication that a stop is likely, and it is at least equally probable that the pendulum may swing the other way.
