THE VETO BILL
VARIOUS AMENDMENTS MOVED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright ! Received 12, 10.25-p.m. London, April 12. Mr. .-G. Cave moved an amendment to the sub-section of the Veto Billj proposing that, instead of the Speaker deciding whether a Bill is a Money Bill, the matter should be decided by a joint committee composed of seven members of each House, the Speaker presiding and having a casting vote. This was negatived by 253 to 180. Mr. C. Wootley's amendment that the Speaker's certificate declaring a Bill a Money Bill should accompany the Bill to the House of Lords, was accepted.
