NEW ZEALAND AWARDS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 11, 9.10 p.m. Sydney, April 11. The Royal Show commenced in fme weather. There was a big attendance. The official opening takes place to-mor-row. In nearly every department the entries show large increases, and products arc particularly fine, the result oi an exceptionally good season. They include Prevost Bros.' collection of 1020 distinct varieties of produce grown on a single farm in the Mossvale district. The championship in blood stallion? was awarded to Hoaekisson's Sir Aymer, M. Crick's Collarit second and reserve champion. Collarit also won the special prize. Seaton's Blue Flyer was the champion marc. Trotters, stallion, Playfair's Ribbonwood: coaching stallion, Hordern's Gartonius, New Zealand was well represented in the Clydesdale section. For mares, four years and over, John Bong's Gipsy Queen took second prize; three years, McCarron's Union Queen, second; John Grant's Kelso Mag, third; fillies, Grant's Flower, third; active farm mare, Bong's Greta of Wostbourne, second. In Clydesdale stallions, heavy, three years, John Boag's Royal Conqueror was second, and Royal Favorite third. In sheep, John Nixon, of Killinchy, Canterbury, swept the board for English Leicesters, taking firsts and champions for ram and ewe. In Border Leicesters, for ram two years, J. B. Reid. of Elderslie, Oamaru, was first, and Nixon second. Ram under two, Reid. first, and Nixon third; ewe, two years, Nixon second ; ewe under two years, Reid first and champion, Nixon second and reserve, Reid third. Romney Marsh ram, Reid third; ewe under two years, Reid first.
