WEIT FOR LIBEL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palinerston N., Last Night. S. Jickell. borough engineer, has issued a writ for £3OO against the Manawatu Times for an alleged libel contained in the report of a speech of a candidate in the municipal election. HOUSE-BREAKING AT DUNEDIN. Dunedin, Last Night. Two young men named Samuel McDonald and Charles McDonald appeared before the Police Court to-day on further charges of house-breaking in various parts of the city and suburbs. The former,, who had previously pleaded guilty to other charges of a, similar nature, pleaded guilty to three more today, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. In three other cases the brothers were charged conjointly with breaking and entering. In these Samuel McDonald pleaded guilty, and Charles not guilty. The former was committed for sentence, and the latter for trial.
