FITZROY y. IXGLEWOOD. Four rinks from the Fitzroy Club journeyed to lnglewood and, after a close I and interesting game, defeated the local team by eight points. The game was ! closely contested, and with two heads to go Fitzroy had a lead of four. In each of .these two heads, however, they were two up. The noted hospitality of the lnglewood Club was again in evidence. During the afternoon there were several light showers, but not sufficient to stop play. Scores: F. I. Ford. Av«ry,' and a pair of bowls presented by Mr. E. single, ten pairs competed, the winning pair being R. Callender and J. Morey, who won seven games and lost two. J. Abbott and G. Dickenson were runners-up with six games. W. Healey and T. Hill, secured the wooden spooii, with one win. PROGRESSIVE TOURNAMENT. Several games in the progressive rink tournament were played on the New Plymouth green yesterday afternoon, the results being as under: FIFTH ROUND. C. Burgess' rink (20). beat Ab. Goldwater's rink (13). Bishop (20) beat A. K. Smart (14). S. Rundle (18) beat H. Smart (15). Bary's rink, a bye. SIXTH ROUND. ( S. Rundle (17.) lost to A. K. Smart) (20). Ab. Goldwater (11) lost to 11. Smart (20). Bishop (10) lost to Bary (11). C. Burgess' rink, a bye. The seventh and final round is yet to be played. S. Rundle's rink plays Ab. Goldwater's rink; Bishop's rink plays H. Smart's rink; Bary's rink plays Burgess' rink; A. K. Smart, a bye. St. John's Bowling Club (Wanganni) will arrive in New Plymouth on Good Friday evening with three rinks, anrt will play the town Club on Saturday morning, and Fitzroy in the afternoon. Local bowlers who intend visiting Sydney leave by to-night's boat for Auckland.
