INGLEWOOD NOTES
(From our Own Correspondent). A slight shower of rain fell this morning, and laid the dust a little, but the want of a good steady Tain is badly felt all round the district. The crops are suffering, as are the roads, which are breaking up and are very loose ana rough in places. A bazaar in connection with the Methodist Church was held iu the Parish Hall last week and was attended with every success. Those responsible for the arrangements are to be congratulated on the success of the function. The Roman Catholic Presbytery is making good progress towards completion, and will be a decided acquisition to the appearance of Inglewood buildings. It is a large two-storey building, and occupies a corner section next the church. The building trade in Inglewood is exceptionally brisk just now, and several new houses are being erected. The Borough Council is holding its' ordinary monthly meeting on Tuesday, of this week instead of Wednesday. Hockey is becoming very strong in] Inglewood, and a large number of new members have been enrolled in the local; club. The first team means to have a big try to regain the shield which they held a year or so ago. The ladies' team is also strong, and is practising assiduously. Football is very dead, and Inglcwood's team will doubtless be a repetition of last year's so far as performances go. Swimming is practically over for the season, and very few are now seen wend- \ ing their way towards the baths.
