I3IOGRAPII PICTURES. The Theatre ftoy'al was again well filled to view the change of programme on 'Saturday niglit. The new films are a great selection, and the principal items are undoubtedly equal to anything in the picture line so far screened in -Vew Plymouth. Particular mention must be made of the gorgeously colored pictures, "Fred Sato and His Clever Dogs" (a wonderful trick picture, introducing a number of mystical effects and two intelligent. trained dogs), and a wellmounted and lavishly-costumed drama, "The Defeat of Satan." The coloring and transformation effects in both these picture# are a striking example of the higaest art in motion photography. Other pictures popular with Saturday's I audience were ''The Hebrew Fugitive," a wcll-enacted drama of the Hebrew oppression; "Sorrows of the Unfaithful,", a particularly fine effort by the American Biograph Company; and "The Mystery of Temple Court " a powerful dramatic story by the Vitagraph Company. A unique scenic picture is included in "From Dream to Reality." in which a young girl falls asleep and, in company with her lover in Dreamland, enjoys a most beautiful scenic trip. The awakening is probably the worst part for the dreamer, but makes a most interesting scenic study for the audience. "Pets and Favorites" was another popular picture, showing n number of well bred dogs, horses, apes and elephants. "Cattle Handling" in British Columbia conveys an effective idea of life on a cattle ranch. The usual comic picture completed one of the best selections of motion pictures vet- screened at the Theatre Royal. To-night is the last opportunity to view this striking collection, as n complete change will be screened next Thursday and Friday, when the picture; will again occupy the Theatre. I
